Fort Casey

...and the celebration continues! Marta, Eli and Liam joined us for a picnic up island at Fort Casey. The expanse of grass was perfect for the toddling Liam, and we were all charmed by the solitude and warmth and beauty of this very accessible park.

Marta and I realized we haven't had a picture taken of us for years and years. High time! Liam actually held still long enough to get into the act, but he was soon back to being a boogie baby down the green slope.

Mosaic's Last Hurrah

Mosaic, the a cappella trio from beautiful Whidbey Island, gave their farewell performance at Scott's Retirement/Birthday bash. The lovely trio performed in the park (official name, Elements Park, due to the air, fire and water abundant there). At the birthday boy's request, they sang "Breaths," from Sweet Honey and the Rock, "Deep Peace" and had a sing-along of "Dona Nobis Pacem." Mosaic honored the spirit of place at Moonshadow Farm by singing "Full Moonlight Dance," by Libana and a surprise "Shenendoah," which caused the birthday boy to wipe a tear.

Anastasia Mae and Dana May wish Jane a wondrous adventure, and hope she comes back to the island next summer for a solstice concert.

55 and retired!

Scotty is officially retired from the Boeing Company. We had a nice three-day celebration for the 28 years of blood, sweat and tears he put in. Beautiful northwest summer days, good friends, lots of laughter.
